May 5, 2020
Dear Friends in Christ,
Following Cardinal DiNardo’s recommendation, we have decided to resume Masses on the weekend of May 23-24. There will be several measures taken to safely conduct mass while still maintaining “social distancing” insuring our parishioners safety and the prevention of the spread of Covid-19.
You will be asked to adhere to the following requirements:
Seating is limited to accommodate a maximum of 60 people (25% capacity) while maintaining “Social Distancing” between families and single persons (a minimum of 6 Ft). Parishioners will be counted and when we reach 60, no one else will be admitted.
Face Masks covering both the mouth and nose are required to be worn at all times while coming, during, and leaving mass.
Hands should be sanitized when arriving and leaving the church. Sanitizer is available on both sides of the doors entering church. Pews will be sanitized by ushers and volunteers.
Adults 65 and over and those with underlying health issues are urged to stay home and stay safe-participating in the many Mass choices provided on the internet or Television. His Eminence made it clear that all the faithful are still dispensed from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass during the Covid-19 epidemic.
Communion, the Body of Christ only, is to be given to the faithful ONLY IN THE HAND by Priest. Parishioners are asked to receive “The Body of Christ” in the hand, step aside, remove mask to consume the Eucharist and then re-mask as you head back to the pew.
Sunday Offering Baskets will be available to drop off offerings before and after Mass as you enter church. No baskets will be passed down pews. You may also mail or bring your offering by the church office.
Individuals ill, running fever, or with any symptom such as cough, sneezing, etc. MUST stay home.
Church will be sanitized before and after each mass.
Confession by appointment only. Please contact the church office for an appointment 936-344-6104. Church will continue to be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday – Friday for personal prayer. All meetings, organizations, and CCE Classes are postponed until further notice.
As you can see, we need your patience and assistance. Continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us during this challenging time. May God bless you!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Kim Nguyen
